YSU Game Experience
On Saturday I attended my first YSU Football since I've been in college. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. The weather wasn’t too bad, the tailgate was great, the view from the press box was amazing, with exceptional food, and the fans were full of energy. The game wasn’t bad either. In the first quarter, however, the YSU defense couldn’t contain Butler’s quarterback. After the first few drives the YSU defense slowed him down but he was still getting too much time in the pocket and continued to pass the ball to the middle of the field.
Even though it’s still early in the season defense wins championships and defense has to be the main priority. As the game continued, YSU’s true freshman quarterback Hunter Wells through 4 touchdown passes and senior receiver Jelani Berassa caught six passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns. However, YSU will need to improve on the defensive end if they want to be a playoff contender. YSU improves to 2-1 and will face Saint Francis next week at home beginning at 7pm.
